Socratic School of STEM Welcomes Xaria Woodard as Lower Elementary Montessori Guide

Socratic School of STEM ("SSS") is pleased to welcome Xaria Woodard as a Lower Elementary Montessori Guide.

Xaria joins SSS with a strong foundation in science education, learner-centered instruction, and hands-on academic support. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Science Education, with a concentration in Middle Grades Education, from North Carolina State University, where she was also selected for the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program.

Over the course of her training and field experience, Xaria worked in a variety of classroom settings, collaborating with experienced educators at Athens Drive High School, Leesville Road High School, Centennial Campus Middle School, and Springfield Middle School. These experiences helped strengthen her skills in inquiry-based instruction, thoughtful lesson design, and responsive support for students with different learning needs.

In addition to her classroom experience, Xaria has served as an academic tutor through the NC State College of Education, where she supported students in biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. She has also worked with younger learners in hands-on STEM enrichment through Snapology, helping guide children in LEGO-based engineering and robotics activities in engaging, high-energy learning environments.

Xaria brings a calm, encouraging presence and a deep respect for each child’s individual growth. She is especially drawn to environments where children are invited to explore, ask thoughtful questions, and build confidence through hands-on discovery.

Her educational philosophy is beautifully reflected in her words:
“The early years are foundational: a time when wonder is nurtured, confidence takes root, and a love of learning begins to bloom.”

We are delighted to welcome Xaria to the founding team at Socratic School of STEM and look forward to the care, curiosity, and joyful learning she will help cultivate in our lower elementary community.
