Socratic School of STEM Welcomes Mike Oggiani as Middle School Guide

Socratic School of STEM Mike Oggiani Middle School Guide

Mike Oggiani is a seasoned educator who brings instructional versatility, thoughtful lesson design, and a strong commitment to cultivating curiosity in young learners. He is passionate about creating a learning environment where students are known, challenged, and encouraged to grow in both confidence and understanding.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont, and his Master of Education from Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts. He is a licensed teacher and has taught across the elementary, middle, and high school levels, while also supporting students through tutoring in a wide range of subjects with K12 Tutoring.

Most recently, Mike led a classroom at Carolina Friends School in Durham, North Carolina, where he collaborated with colleagues to design and implement curriculum. Through his work across varied educational settings, he has developed a deep appreciation for student-centered learning environments that encourage exploration, thoughtful questioning, and meaningful engagement with ideas.

Mike believes learners are naturally adventurous, open-minded, and inquisitive, and that the work of an educator is to nourish and strengthen those qualities. He is especially drawn to serving as a guide because it allows him to design creative, engaging lessons while fostering a supportive and connected environment where students and families feel valued. He values clear communication, collaboration, positive problem-solving, and strong relationships with those he serves and works alongside.

At Socratic School of STEM, Mike looks forward to helping cultivate a school culture where curiosity is strengthened, learning is purposeful, and students are encouraged to explore the world’s knowledge with both confidence and wonder.
