Admissions

Admissions Philosophy
A fit-first process for families who want serious learning and strong character. At Socratic School of STEM, admissions is about fit - welcoming learners who are ready to work with curiosity, discipline, and kindness in a small, high-trust community. Our program is learner-driven and STEM-rich, combining strong academics with hands-on projects, clear expectations, and meaningful mentorship. We selectively admit learners who will contribute to the culture and thrive in a focused environment where seeking, solving, and serving are practiced every day.
We don’t select for perfection. We select for promise - curiosity, character, and a willingness to do hard things well. Seek more. Solve deeply. Serve well. That’s the standard we practice - together..
- Provost, SOCRATIC SCHOOL OF STEM
What We Look For
We look for learners who:
-
Lean into curiosity and ask thoughtful questions
- Persist through challenge (even when the answer isn’t immediate)
- Respect others and contribute to a calm, focused classroom
- Accept feedback and are willing to revise, rework, and improve
- Value community - showing kindness, honesty, and responsibility
A Fit-First Approach
We’re a small school by design. That allows for personalized mentorship and a high-trust culture - but it also means fit matters. Our goal is to enroll families who want real academics, clear expectations, and a learner-driven environment where learners build independence, confidence, and capability over time.
How Decisions Are Made
Admissions decisions consider the whole learner - academic readiness, learning habits, maturity, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative setting. We also partner closely with families, because home support and shared expectations are essential for learners to flourish.
We admit learners who will elevate the room - bringing curiosity, effort, and character to a community built for serious growth.
