Scholars (Grades 9-12)

Socratic School of STEM Excited Experiment

High School | Grades 9–12

The Scholars level represents the culmination of the Scholar’s Path.

Learners operate with a high degree of autonomy while engaging in advanced academic study, long term projects, and real world application. Learning is driven by inquiry, mastery, and purpose rather than seat time or passive coursework.

If you think you know all the answers, that's because you don't know all the questions.- Provost, Socratic School of STEM

Scholars engage in:

  • Advanced interdisciplinary projects and research

  • Socratic seminars and formal presentations

  • STEM focused challenges and real world problem solving

  • Apprenticeships with mentors in fields such as STEM, entrepreneurship, design, research, service, and skilled trades

  • Increasing opportunities for leadership, mentorship, and community contribution

By this stage, learners are expected to demonstrate the habits of a scholar: disciplined inquiry, intellectual honesty, sustained effort, quality work, and meaningful contribution. Apprenticeships reinforce these habits by requiring responsibility, professionalism, and real accountability beyond school walls.

In addition to rigorous academic work, Scholars participate in apprenticeships that connect learning to the real world. Apprenticeships provide opportunities for learners to apply knowledge in professional, technical, research, or service based settings aligned with their interests and strengths.

Through guided mentorship, Scholars develop practical skills, professional habits, and a deeper understanding of how learning translates beyond the classroom.
